About The Artist
I've drawn ever since I can remember. One day, when I was about 15, I decided I was going to be an artist, and that was that. I have no idea why I decided it, but for some reason it just seemed to me like I was always meant to be an artist. I ended up dropping out of high school, since it didn't afford me enough time to pursue my artwork, and I obtained my GED shortly after my 16th birthday.
I began my adventures in digital art creating photo manipulations in Photoshop, but I felt too limited by the stock photos I was able to collect and wanted to be able to draw. At first I only drew small elements, or painted over stock photos that weren't very good quality, but I began drawing more and more of my manips until they were less than 20% photos. I sold my art for the first time at the local street fair, and it was really a thrilling feeling to have so much success. I wanted more, and on a larger scale. Since then I've focused mainly on digital illustration, finally purchasing myself a 9x12 intuos 3 tablet with money I earned from selling prints of my work. Later I dabbled with watercolors, watercolor pencils, egg tempera, oils, acrylic paints and graphite. Of all the mediums I have played with, watercolor pencils, digital, and graphite are my favorites.
I continue to focus mainly on digital illustration, and my work is shown year-round at conventions all over the country, and in some cases, even in other countries. It is a lot of hard work but it is also very rewarding. I can't think of anything I'd rather do, even on days when it seems like the pile of orders and art shows that still need to be shipped is a neverending obstacle between me and actually getting to paint.
I am a Washington native, but I currently reside in Helena Montana with my boyfriend Luke and our cats, Puck and Kerwin and a fish, Ching Shih.
